John says that everything we receive flows out of Christ’s fullness, not out of our effort, maturity, or worthiness. We aren’t drawing from scarcity; we’re drawing from abundance.
The phrase often translated “grace upon grace” literally means one blessing after another. Not grace replacing grace, and not grace earned by grace—but grace stacked, flowing, uninterrupted.
In other words:
You don’t use grace up.
You live inside a continuing supply.
